Converting a Word doc into a PowerPoint Presentation

John Biglin, CEO | September 28, 2012

Here’s how you can convert a Word outline into a PowerPoint presentation:

  1. Add the Send to Office PowerPoint button.
  2. Click on the Customize quick access toolbar button and choose Add more commands
  3. Choose Commands from dropdown menu and select Commands not in the ribbon.
  4. Scroll down and double-click the Send to Microsoft Office PowerPoint command.
  5. Click OK to close the word options window.
  6. Go back into Word and send the outline to PowerPoint.
  7. Use the header styling to create the outline or the open outline document.
  8. Click the Send to Microsoft Office PowerPoint button.

The PowerPoint will now have a new presentation based on what you have in your headings. Level one heading become individual slides, level two become bullet points and slides, and level three become sub bullets. If you want some body text and slides, apply heading style to that text.
